Are You Ignoring the Oldest Writing Hack on the Internet?

    Steal like an artist

    By Kieran Drew

When I started writing online four years ago, I worried I was too late.

Everyone ahead of me was great.

Their content was crisp and their messaging was magnetic.

I knew writing was critical. Content, ads, emails, videos, products, sales pages.

The internet is built on a foundation of words. I decided to take the craft seriously—my goal was to cram 10 years of progress into 3.

Now, I'm not an expert, but I'd like to think I'm getting good.

Over 250,000 people read my content and 35,000 read these emails. I made my first dollar online after months of work. Since then, my business has grown beyond what I imagined possible.

One technique kickstarted my growth. I still swear by it now:

    Steal like an artist.

This is a concept from Austin Kleon.

He explained that great art doesn't start from scratch. It's built on the back of other creations.

It's great advice for your brand. The best part about social media is that the answers are already out there. Instead of blindly guessing, you can take what works and apply your unique lens.

    But don't get this twisted:

I'm not suggesting you copy other people.

The Internet is already filled with enough clones stuck in the crowd.

To avoid joining them, you must understand the 'why' behind a good post. Then you can borrow the big idea and/or copywriting structure.

This is why I study social media content deeply.

I pick what caught my attention (not virality, but quality), study the psychology and copywriting, create a template, then rewrite in my voice to grow my business.

With so much noise, quality content has never been more crucial.

This approach is at the heart of what I teach in the Magnetic Content Masterclass, where I help entrepreneurs craft content that connects and converts.

If you'd like to learn more about creating content that stands out and builds your business, my newsletter is packed with insights I've gathered from years of testing and refining.

You'll get practical writing advice that helped me build my audience from zero to over 250,000.

    No fluff, just what works:
