Why Quitting Dentistry Almost Went Terribly Wrong
Quality is key
I quit dentistry to build my business on September 2nd, 2021.
For years, I dreamed of freedom. But I soon slammed against a roadblock:
I had no clue what to do.
I thought business would be easy because the Internet is full of 18-year-old kids buying Ferraris.
But instead of getting rich, I froze like a deer in the headlights. Why? Because my career as a dentist was laid out in front of me.
But online there are hundreds of paths to success.
And every guru promises theirs is best.
As months dragged by, my savings dwindled and my dread grew:
Had I quit too soon? Will I need to crawl back to my boss?
Now, I'm a firm believer that action relieves anxiety.
So I decided to double down on what I was enjoying: content.
I began sharing more about what I was learning, thinking, and doing. I took copywriting and storytelling seriously.
Guess what?
Opportunities emerged.
I won't pretend there were thousands. But people became interested in my brand. Eventually, I launched my first product—a swipe file called the Viral Inspiration Lab.
Things have never been the same.
Not because of the launch, but because of what I learned:
Writing is Like Steroids for Your Business
When you attract a group of like-minded people, you earn their trust. You can create offers to solve their problems. And because social capital is a signal of authority, you build an excellent reputation too.
This unlocks many doors.
With an audience, you will never struggle with lead flow again. You can charge premium prices and have people queuing for your high-ticket offers while your competition gets stuck in a race to the bottom.
The secret is to create fans, not chase followers.
Because not all attention is created equal, and how you grow is more important than how fast.
This is why I built High Impact Writing.
When I doubled down on content I took every social media course I could. 99% of them sucked. They teach you tactics that are outdated the second you learn them. Or lump you in with the crowd of commodity creators.
Quality writing creates a quality audience.
A quality audience catapults your business.
And High Impact Writing is a systemised approach to attracting the people you can serve best.
Here's what consultant Catherine Doyle said about it:

The best part about learning to write is you're not intimidated by any platform.
I've used the same approach to attract followers across multiple platforms including X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Threads. I've even expanded to YouTube without fear about what to say.
Writing is the ultimate meta skill.
